This is a vintage original hand painted gouache Vietnamese War era propaganda poster and not a reproduction or print.  These is a hand painted poster on a type of light craft or rice paper.
This poster title translates to
"Ready to Protect the nation"
Poster measures 28-1/2" L x 21" W
This poster has damage from an oil or petroleum product that has stained the paper, caused it to stiffen and crack.  This damage runs along the right side of the poster from the middle to the bottom of the poster.
There are also various creases and wrinkles throughout the main body of the artwork where the creases
caused the gouache paint to chip or peel away as seen in the photos.
The poster has water spots on the front of the poster in the red and gold areas as shown in the close up photos.
You can easily see the artists paint strokes in this poster as seen in the photos.
The edges and have small wrinkles, creases and some small tears as is normal with age and prior use of the poster. There is also spotting and foxing of the poster paper edges.
There is tape affixed to the upper back corners where it was once attached to a wall or other surface.
This poster does not lay flat on its own as it has been rolled up in a tube for many years.
Like any propaganda, these posters were designed to be used during the Vietnam War to influence the masses participation, attitude and behavior in the war effort.
